Driving licenses, hold a B driving license but need
to drive more then 3.5 Tonnes? then you need a C1.
While I hold a driving license that was passed after 1997 I am only entitled to drive vehicles with a maximum gross weight of 3.5 tonnes. However those driver who passed there driving license prior to 1997 are allowed to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes. Now despite the fact that the new driving tests have been made harder with the addition of the theory test, yet the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) have chosen to penalise new drivers by reducing their freedom to drive their chosen vehicle. Additionally Drivers who passed a car test on or after 1 January 1997 are required to pass an additional driving test in order to gain entitlement to category B+E which allows them to tow caravans and trailers. Yet drivers before did not have to take any such test. As such this represents Discrimination against recently passed drivers. Now this brings about an interesting point, it is illegal to discriminate
against someone, and in specific against a persons age, yet this is exactly
what is happening.
