I’m sorry to say I’ve not had much time for web update lately due to setting up and new company and moving. Anyhow, the bugs back on the road, after some 10 or so years off the public roads.

First MOT:

Had a few problems, brakes not efficient enough, headlight aim too high and I was told the exhaust system was too loud. First two points were obviously easy to fix however the third was not so easy.

Trying to make a loud exhaust quiet, well I chose the mega EMPI cannon exhausts so they are real loud even with baffles fitted, my solution to this was to add lots of wire wool. The wire wool was wrapped tightly around the baffle this was then reverted to the exhaust. However it should be noted that wire wool does burn / melt in the exhaust system, this should do no damage to the engine but it will start to get louder and louder, I find it lasts about 20-30 minutes, just long enough for the MOT, which is the key point.

Second MOT:

Passed, so the fun and games begin.

There is still lots of work to be done on the car, a bit more body work and a good paint job to make it look nice. But otherwise she is a great little car to drive.

Custom wing Design

Some specs:

1600cc engine with twin Weber 40IDF carburettors, street cam, lightened fly wheel and Bosch 009 distributor. To list but a few.

EMPI double bar rear cage

Type 3 engine, this provides better cooling for the engine due to the fan setup

Huge 235/75 15 tyres on the rear, Goodrich.

Weller rims, although these are soon to be replaced with alloys

SPAX adjustable shock absorbers
